10th KIFC: Application deadline extended to March 1, 2021
Application deadline for the 10th Kobe International Flute Competition is extended to March 1, 2021.
As many businesses and schools have been closed due to national restrictions in response to a new surge in Covid-19 cases in many countries, we are concerned that many flutists planning to apply for the competition may be having difficulties to access recording resources. Therefore, the KIFC’s management committee has decided to extend the application deadline for another four weeks, to March 1, 2021.
The preliminary screening will be held in late March as scheduled, and its results will be announced shortly after that. We are holding onto the hope that the global situation of the pandemic will improve by summer, allowing the competition to unfold.
We are currently preparing for the competition, but at the same time closely monitoring the changing situation of the Covid-19 and control measures in place at national and international levels. And, depending on how the situation evolves, we will determine whether further changes are required and find alternative ways to keep the opportunity for promising young talents as necessary.
In the meantime, we invite all young flutists to apply for the competition which would give you focus during this unprecedented time.
