Community Engagement
Outreach Program
The Outreach Program, launched during the 9th Competition, provides opportunities for contestants, prize winners, and flutists associated with the competition to perform in schools and public spaces throughout Kobe. It creates opportunities for audiences to encounter performances by world-class young flutists in an accessible setting, while also encouraging cultural exchange.
Community Program
Since 2025, community programs have been offered for older adults and people with disabilities, in which musicians and participants interact through creative activities and improvisational performance. Regardless of age, disability, or living environment, the program aims to create inclusive spaces where everyone can enjoy music and to foster musicians capable of delivering music-based exchange programs in cooperation with medical and welfare facilities.
Universities & Colleges Collaboration
From the 11th Competition onward, students from partner universities and colleges affiliated with the internship program of the Kobe Cultural Foundation, which serves as the competition secretariat, participated as operations support staff. They contributed to the Competition in a wide range of roles, including contestant reception, audience guidance, announcements, and assisting with contestant outreach activities. Through these experiences, the program also creates opportunities for meaningful exchange between students and contestants.

Collaboration with Local Businesses
At the 11th Competition, contestants received original “Kobe INK” inks by the long-established Kobe stationery store Nagasawa Bungu Center, along with a dip pen. Inspired by Kobe place names, the colorful inks reflected each contestant’s individuality. In addition, student interns’ activities are supported by local companies through contributions such as uniform production and refreshments, helping sustain the operation of the competition.
